The core and foundation subjects in Germany are mainly the same as in England and Ireland. But there are still some differences. In Germany it is common to learn a second foreign language such as French, Latin, Spanish, Italian or other European languages. Our school offers French and Latin. Generally students begin to learn the first language, which is usually English, in 5th grade. The education in another foreign language starts in 6th grade.

Furthermore the scientific subjects are devided into the three groups: Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

In the last two years before the final exams students have to attend the “Seminarfach”. It helps students to learn scientific work which includes a ten-paged elaboration about a special topic.
