Trips and excursions

Trips and excursions

In the last years many of excursions took place and developed to a school-tradition such as the sailing course or the ski course. Thus pupils can make expierences they would not have made on their own.

The pupils prepare for a bridgecrossing

The sailing course to Holland:

In year nine pupils have the chance to take part in a sailing trip in Holland usually taking place in June. During the six days of the trip pupils learn to sail accompanied by professional sailors. The hostel is located at a lake in the little Dutch city Heeg. The sailing boats are construed for five to six people and can be berthed straight in front of the hostel. After five days of sailing the pupils are skilled in the basics of sailing. If the course piqued the pupil’s interest they have the possibility to follow up sailing in Cuxhaven, which provides ideal conditions for sailing.

The ski course to Flachau in Austria:

In year eleven in the upper stage of the Gymnasium our school offers a ski course. In the two years of the upper stage the pupils have to choose a sport-course for each of the four semesters. In the first semester the pupils have the option to decide on ski. During the semester the basics of ski are procured via ski-gymnastics or skating. As an conclusion of the semester the group travels for six days to Flachau, where the pupils can exercise their theory of the preceding lessons. Depending on their performances they get a grade.
